Italy does not have F-16 fighters and cannot transfer them to Ukraine, however, it agrees to train Ukrainian pilots. So said Prime Minister George Meloni.
“Italy does not have an F-16, so we will hardly be able to participate in this project,” she said before leaving the G7 summit in Hiroshima, Japan.
At the same time, Meloni noted that the country is discussing with allies the possible training of Ukrainian pilots, writes RIA Novosti.
Earlier in Washington, they announced that they would decide on the supply of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine in the coming months. States and their allies, as Ukrainian pilots are trained, will determine who will supply these planes to Kyiv and how much, said US national security adviser Jake Sullivan.
