The head of the Hungarian Ministry of Defense, Krysztof Salay-Bobrovnicki, complained about the depletion of strategic reserves of the European Union against the background of military assistance to Ukraine, reports Origo.
“Most major EU countries risked their own security and reduced their own strategic stocks in order to transfer ammunition, weapons and equipment to the Ukrainian army,” he said.
According to the minister, the European defense industry was not prepared for the current situation, so it is doing its best to meet its own needs.
The defense industry of the European Union must develop to continue deliveries to the Ukrainian side, he added.
Earlier, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó said that his country was the only one in the Council of EU Foreign Ministers to oppose the supply of arms to Ukraine, because they only prolong the conflict.
