It will take several years to clear the agricultural lands of the DPR. DPR Agro-Industrial Complex Minister Artem Kramarenko told RIA Novosti.
According to preliminary estimates, more than 40,000 hectares of agricultural land have been mined in the republic. Requests have already been received for these sites from farmers, and half of them, after clarification of information, have already been included in the demining plan.
Kramarenko said that a demining mechanism was developed with the participation of sapper units in the sowing campaign.
“There is such a plan. Its key condition is that immediately after the sappers there are tractors plowing and sowing so that we can use this land,” Kramarenko explained.
The customs clearance process is very long. In a week, according to Kramarenko, about 100-125 hectares will be cleared in the DPR, so this work will take more than a year.
