The Trooping The Color ceremony was held in London in honor of the official birthday of King Charles III of Great Britain. The mounted monarch accepted the parade with the participation of 1.4 thousand guards and more than 200 horses. For the celebration, Charles III donned the traditional headdress of the British Guard – a bearskin shako (bearskin), which, as journalists noted, completely blocked his view. The air show celebration is over. How was the official first birthday of Charles III – in the Russian media photo gallery.
The tradition of celebrating the monarch’s two birthdays in the UK began with King George II. In 1748 he decreed that Trooping the Color should be celebrated in summer, when the weather was better. All members of the royal family participate in the annual event, while the actual date of birth of the monarch is irrelevant (Charles III was born on November 14, 1948).
