An explosion occurred in the courthouse in the city of Santa Maria, California, and the suspect was detained, local media reported.
According to the media, the suspect was in the courthouse and threw a bag into the courtroom, which then exploded.
Two people suffered non-life-threatening injuries, the sheriff’s office said.
The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office said US authorities responded to a reported explosion at the courthouse.
“Santa Maria Courthouse: report of an explosion. Please avoid the area. Scene has not been deemed safe. More info to follow,” wrote the Santa Barbara County Sheriff Public Information Officer on X network.
